Nashi Know the Outcome
The Nashi youth movement is printing victory pamphlets even before Parliamentary elections in Russia have begun. A copy of the flyer design appeared on the internet, and was made public by Ekho of Moscow radio.
The text of the flyer proclaims: “On December 2nd, we chose president Putin as the national leader of Russia.” The leaflets also bash the opposition, proclaiming that opposition leaders Garry Kasparov, Eduard Limonov and Boris Nemtsov are “traitors and thieves.”
The document first surfaced on the internet, and there has been some question of its authenticity. When Ekho Moskvy contacted the Nashi press-service, they refused to comment, explaining that “we don’t give commentary to Ekho Moskvy.”
Even if the flyers are fake, they don’t appear all to different from past Nashi activities, many of which have been provocative and violent.
Parliamentary elections, already deemed unfair and false by the opposition, will take place on December 2nd in Russia. 11 political parties are listed on the ballot, although United Russia is expected to take a sweeping victory.
UPDATE:
The Nashi press secretary has verified the authenticity of the flyers. They are being called “donated materials” for a demonstration that was set for December 3rd.
